Hello everyone!

It's my first time posting here, so sorry if I mess up anything. :)

I'm a 20 year old male hungarian (if I manage to commit any serious grammatical mistakes, feel free to correct me :) ), and I'm a Dragonlover (or Dracophile). I'm not exactly a man of words in real life, and I'm also very shy, and because of that I don't have too many friends.
None of my friends love dragons (that is the reason why I am here), and none of them knows that I'm a dracophile. I didn't even had the courage to tell my mom (maybe it's better if she never finds out).
My love for dragons started about 7 years ago, when I played a PS game demo called Spyro the dragon. A few months after that I've seen Dragonheart on TV, and the rest is history...
Now I'm spending a good amount of my free time on searching for books, pictures, games, and even porn of dragons. I also spend some of my free time on making pictures of them. I'm not too good at drawing, but a few weeks ago, I've laid my claws on a 3d modelling software and some dragon models.
I've made a few clean renders so far. Maybe I'll upload them later, if anyone's interested...

Welcome, I've always been a man of many words. I am glad you have found a place where you can feel welcomed. Dragonheart is a good movie although I'm sure most people here didn't like to see Draco meet his end.

As for books have you ever read Raptor Red? It is very insightful.

Well to tell you the truth, I didn't like the ending of Dragonheart either. It's a sad thing that Draco dies in the end, and I don't like sad endings.
But the rest of the movie is amazingly good, and I really liked that the Dragon in it isn't just a mindless beast that goes around killing humans, and plays the role of the big evil creature who has to be destroyed...
No, Draco is intelligent, he speaks, he thinks, and he's playing on the good guys side. That is what I really like about the movie.

As for the book you mentioned: I haven't heard of it before, but I will do a search on it. :)

My friend hates it when I do my best to explain to him about how Draco had to die to complete the cycle. Kinda like a circle of life thing. After all the movie was made for humans, who (like me) naturally favor the 'slayer' who had become friends with Draco. Draco is more of a 'sacrifice' rather than him simply dieing. It is a very noble way to go, and thus through that he earns his place in the stars. Rather than being sad about it (even though it is just a movie) I am happy for him.

I also like how they developed Draco's character. At the time that kind of animation was groundbreaking. Gotta love his voice as well, perfect casting.

Forgive me for being sympathetic towards humans, I'm the odd one out around here, lol.

i actually think the animation is pretty good even compered to new movies like ironman and stuff. when i first saw it i thought that it was from 2003 or something... and ofcourse the voice is good, its Sean Connery:D

but yes it is a good movie, rather funny actually... i especially like that the girl (cant remember her name) likes draco better than the knight. i also like the scene where the knight is figthing draco and ends up in his mouth and have to stand in there the whole day (i guess i just hate him for wanting to kill draco at the beginning, thats why i love the scenes that is evil towards him i guess)... but anyways sad ending, i normally like sad endings, but not when it involves dragons...

Well I can't say nothing about the voice acting because I've never heard the original, only with the hungarian dub. But if I can get my claws on the DVD version...
I also liked the funny parts in the movie, the best scene is where Bowen ends up in Draco's mouth.

Hey Drgnluv3r. You have good taste in films (and Spyro the Dragon too, he's adorable)! :)

That's ok if not a whole lot of people know your secret offline, I don't have very many friends either and I only came out to two of them, but luckily they were both cool about it. My family does not know, and they probably won't ever. Regardless you can be open here, we've all got a common interest. :)

Jó napot kivánok!

It's nice to meet you. Even if none of your friends you have in person love dragons, you will have like-minded friends here.

I used to enjoy playing Spyro the Dragon on the Playstation. I nearly finished the first game, but I remember there was one level that was just too hard for me. I played the second and third games as well but I don't remember getting to the end of them.

Regarding Dragonheart, I don't think I'll be able to watch the film again. The first time I watched it, I cried a lot (I know, I know...) so I don't want to put myself through that again.

Anyway, I'd be interested in seeing some of your 3D dragon models, Drgnluv3r. Do you have a website or gallery somewhere?

Isten hozott!

The ending to that film completely destroyed Young Dracokon's day.

It's nice to see a few hungarian words here. :D
I didn't expect so many warm welcomes this soon. :D

About the Spyro games: I've played Spyro 1,2 and 3 and finished all of them. I played them on my PC on a Playstation emulator, that way it was much easier because on the emulator you can save your progress whenever you want to...
I've also played Spyro: A Heroe's Tail, on a Playstation 2 emulator, but the game ran so slow (but at least it ran). Regardless I've completed that too. Guess I'm unstoppable when it comes to games XD

About my renders: No, I don't have a website or a gallery. I haven't uploaded my pictures anywhere yet, but I will upload the few that looks good enough to be viewed by the public here...

If anyone's interested I've uploaded some pictures in my directory in the artist section this morning (well it WAS morning here in Hungary... :) ).
Oh and if anyone was browsing the gallery at that time 'accidentally' :D , I'd like to say a sorry for the extremely huge sized thumbnails that I've uploaded (note to self: 300*300 means BIG! :D ). I've deleted the pics and uploaded them again with smaller thumbnails...

Hey, nice renderings, Drgnluv3r :D.

What program do you use? I once layed my hands on blender but was to lazy to learn it yet.

Greetings,

Thanks!

I'm using Poser 7. It's not a 'difficult to learn' kind of software, and if you 'play' yourself through the first few chapters of their huge tutorial, you'll know enough to make pics like that :D. I have to admit that I'm still not finished with the tutorial, maybe because I'm also a lazy guy here :D

Oh and I almost forgot: If you guys have any good ideas about my future pics, you can share them with me if you want to. If the idea is good enough, maybe I'll render it... :D
And just one more thing: I'm working on an 18+ picture currently, so don't worry about seeing only clean stuff from me :D

yeah, blender is the definition of non-intuitive efficiency. it's very non-obvious to a beginner, but once you learn it, it's extremely efficient to use. or at least that's what people i know who use it say.

Wow! Drgnluv3r, the pictures you have made look fantastic. I really like this one:

http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/5348/bluedragonkc7.png

How long does it take you to make one of these pictures? I have never done 3D modelling before, so I have no clue. It must be quite time-consuming and labourious to make something of great quality like you have.

Dragonluv3r
05-30-2008, 05:53 PM
That pic took about 2 or 3 hours. But that's because I'm still an amateur with Poser :D.
I figured it's not too difficult to make a pose of a single character, things only get harder when there are two or more characters on the screen, and let's not forget about the props.
So this one wasn't really a time consuming one. :)

I'm really glad you like them :D .
I didn't had enough free time to spend on picture making in the past few days though, but the whole weekend is still ahead of me...

What it's been like 5 years ago since I regged here? Christ....time sure passes. I know I stopped visiting some time ago, but got 'kon's mail, thought I'd give this site another look around. After all: why not? I'm being a bit too antisocial nowadays anyway...
Sooo Hi all! again...
The new regulars probably here don't know me, so I guess I should say a few things about me. First of all I'm a Dragonlover and a Dragon otherkin (yes, I always write Dragon with a capital D XP), I like reptiles, videogames and am a very very very lazy guy. Nowadays I work a lot, and after coming home from a day at work, all I want is to sit into my comfy chair maybe chat in skype for a bit then watch a good movie and get to bed...and that goes on and on until the weekend.
Yeah, and sorry if I annoy anyone with writing into my old thread...I wasn't lazy to open a new one, just thought it's pointless...this gets bumped with this new post anyway...at least it should.
